What's something that always cheers you up? Some of my favorite things are good meals, hot baths, and of course getting to hang out in nature with my two best pals! One of my goals for this season is to get outside more so I've teamed up with @tentree to bring you my five favorite hiking essentials on the blog!

Tentree plants 10 trees for every single purchase and I love that they're working to replant the mangroves in Madagascar. Mangroves capture and absorb more carbon dioxide than any other trees in the world.

As a kid, I'd pack a backpack before going to bed because I was terrified of fire. I think it's a pretty common fear among kids?
Coincidentally, I lost almost every thing to a house fire in 2013. I'm still so anxious and uneasy about fire. I find it so hard to focus on anything.
Last year one of the deadliest fires in California was burning less than 12 miles from my home.
This year, the fires have surpassed the damage of last year's and I'm already worried about what next year has in store.
I don't think we can subscribe every natural disaster to climate change, but I do know that we'll be seeing more and greater catastrophic damage as things heat up.

I received an interesting DM, "those figs aren't local..." When I uploaded a photo of a huge platter of figs at my Halloween party.
I had to laugh a little because I'm pretty sure my backyard is as local as it gets.
But, even if figs weren't local to me... It's ok to eat things that might not be in your season or region every now and then. .
There is no such thing as 👏 perfect 👏 environmentalism 👏
So can we all just stop trying to measure ourselves on the non-existent scale?
Zero waste is NOT a competition.
Let's just be nice humans and realize we're all different and we're all doing the best we can. 🧡
