Flying and zero waste in the same sentence is kind of an oxymoron. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t take strides to make it less wasteful. Remember, it’s not about perfection; it’s about making better choices, and I will echo it again and again.

Tips and Tricks

Go for a longer trip instead of multiple trips to reduce your emission waste. Plus, a bonus is that you will have a more rewarding trip instead of one being short and sweet.

What items to bring?

An item to bring is an EMPTY water bottle. Security won't let you bring a full water bottle through security so be sure that it's empty. There will be plenty of water fountains to fill it up after you're done with the security check.

Another item to bring is a cloth napkin. Using a cloth napkin is way more sustainable plus it can be used as a plate or to wrap up your goodies to go.

Bring some flatware to easily avoid throwing away one-use plastic utensils. Don't bring a knife through security but feel free to bring a fork and a spoon to use on the plane or at the airport.
