You can add these Roasted Pumpkin Seeds to your smoothies, soups, or yogurt. It’s especially good as a topper on homemade pumpkin soup! They are also delicious just eating them whole (seed shell and all), but you can remove them if you prefer – just don’t forget to compost them!

Are pumpkin seeds better raw or roasted?

When pumpkin seeds are roasted they tend to be more flavorful instead of when eaten plain and raw. Depending on the flavor profile you could add cinnamon and sugar for something sweeter or even garlic powder and paprika for something savory.

What are the benefits?

The benefits of eating roasted pumpkin seeds are the fact that they are loaded with vitamins and minerals. There are also properties in them that help your immune system fight bacteria and viruses. With it being full of zinc it is also believed to help fight acne.

It is not necessary to soak the pumpkin seeds but it is recommended to rinse them off. Sometimes pumpkin guts may be stuck to the seeds so in this instance feel free to soak the seeds to loosen it up.

Should you soak the seeds before roasting?

For this recipe you will need a large pumpkin, an assortment of spices, and olive oil.

Wash and towel dry your seeds. Spread the seeds onto a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Add your spices of choice.  Roast at 350° for 15 minutes and shake them halfway through. Enjoy!
